Let's Move!

Listen to me read this post.

Not everyone in the United States is a fan of fast food,  First Lady Michelle Obama has taken an active role in improving the way we eat in America and more importantly the way our kids eat.

She has made it her mission to get kids to eat better, more nutritious foods and exercise more.  To achieve this goal she started a program called Let's Move.  You can read more about this program at http://www.letsmove.gov/ or just click on the Let's Move logo in the show notes.

Let's Move

The website includes recipes, articles on how to build healthy habits, tips on exercising and much more.

Besides being a great resource for improving your lifestyle, it's a another opportunity to practice your English.  I'm sure you will find something that interests you on this website. I was reading through the blog and found a recipe for zucchini fries that I really want to try.

After all the secret to keeping motivated while you learn English is finding  materials you really want to watch and read.  So, if health and nutrition is something you are interested in, then this website is for you.

You can practice your English listening skills by watching a video on the Let's Move YouTube channel.  You'll find that at http://www.youtube.com/letsmove.  You can also link to it from the Let's Move website.

Below is a great example of what you will find.  First Lady Michelle Obama is talking about getting active outside.  She speaks slowly and in a clear voice so it is the perfect video for practicing your listening skills.

Thanks for listening to me Cassie Brenn for fastfoodenglish.blogspot.com.
